We're building a new sport in South Jersey. Our goal is to bring this sport to TV so our athletes can get paid. Help us earn our way there. All it takes is some video footage. You also have to get good at it. Our game's not easy but it is safe. If you have a concussion leave it in the car. We don't allow them on our field.
Our jerseys are cheapo $3 T-shirts with the characters stenciled on. Tear a jersey during a game and your team's manager will break out a blank and have you back in action in 3 minutes.
Our athletes are the playing cards in a human chess match. There are 12 cards in each suit. We don't have Queens. The "X" equals ten.
A • 2 • 3 • 4 • 5 • 6 • 7 • 8 • 9 • X • J • K
Our Refs are a bunch of Jokers!
Our game has DNA from North American Gridiron Football, both Rugby codes, Australian Rules and Gaelic Football all rolled into one Super Fast Frankenstein sport.
Our ball is shorter and faster too! It's shorter and rounder. This translates to 80.2 mph so far. The ball is made with Beefalo leather at the Henry Handball Shoppe of Westville NJ and is only available to the South Jersey Derby teams.
Hurling Handball has the forward pass which comes from our parent game American Football.
Ball carriers are always permitted to strike the ball by hand or foot in all directions. This is called Hurling which comes from Australian and Gaelic Football.
A ball carrier can pass the ball backward at any time. This is called Rugby.
1- The ball has an invisible line extending to both side lines. It stays with the ball at all times.
2- Four players are permitted to be more than 5 yards forward the ball's live line.
3- A ball carrier is not permitted to throw the ball forward if there are teammates behind the ball's live line.
1- The defender must be forward the ball's live line to play the ball or ball carrier.
2- Both palms must be in simultanious contact to draw the whistle.
We're not made of money. We can't afford to pay attention. We don't have a game clock. We have 9 Outings. They're like innings but we can't call them that because baseball would sick their lawyers on us.
Each team has 6 plays to score in each Outing with 4 timeouts called "pops". That means "Pause Of Play". Each play does have just 15 seconds to begin because we don't have time.
Our plays are called "Ups" because we play in spring and we don't fall down.
Our touchdown is a Crown worth 4 points. We don't have conversions. Our Back-Jack safety is 3 points and can be scored by the offense too. We have a Goal under for 2 points and a Field-Goal above the crossbar for 1 point.
We punt to score on the run.
The Jersey-Pitch is 270 feet between each goal try line. Every 45 feet is a set line. The field is 150 feet wide. Our field lines fit nearly everywhere.
America, Canada, GAA Pitch, Association Pitch, Union or League Rugby Pitch.
